Distinctly British Blendworth plumps for Mertex upgrade
The collaboration with doyenne of British textile design Celia Birtwell gives a clue to the importance of heritage and innovation at Hampshire-based fabric expert Blendworth Interiors which next year celebrates its centenary.
Celia has worked in textiles and fashion for more than half a century and is famous for being the subject of a Hockney painting as well as being behind some of the outfits for the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. Blendworth, which started on London’s Regent Street in 1921, has hosted several collaborative collections with her alongside its inspiring, unique and quintessentially British core product ranges.
Working closely with Celia, the Blendworth design team have reimagined a number of her original fashion prints, dating back to the 1960s, for interiors use. These designs combined with her Classics collection, bring a new versatility to the Celia Birtwell brand in collaboration with Blendworth.
As a long-standing customer of Reflex Data, Blendworth is familiar with the benefits of Mertex, so we are delighted that they have decided to upgrade to Mertex ERP which is the definitive version of the software that all new customers will sign up to.
It is the result of more than two decades of Mertex development and our experience of working in the textiles industry. Mertex ERP customers will not have to upgrade again in the future and will benefit from its constant development and introduction of new features from our team of experts.
With their in-house design team, Blendworth creates intricate and luxurious patterned fabrics that utilise both new artworks and treasures from their illustrious archive – creating a perfect juxtaposition and harmony between the company’s heritage and its ability to innovate. Whilst still inspired by its London roots, but influenced by its surroundings in Hampshire, bold colour and original design are integral parts of the company’s design philosophy.
Blendworth’s 100th anniversary will be celebrated with a series of exciting and innovative collections, driven by their passion for all things interiors and their rich heritage.
We look forward to many more years of working with Blendworth and we’ll provide an update once the upgrade is completed.
